The Company was established in 2006. It is a member of the Construction sector of “Basic Element” Company. Total revenues of “Basic Element” in 2007 were 26.8 billion USD, aggregate value of assets – 45 billion USD.
“BaselCement” produces cement, aggregate, lime, bentonite clay powder. In 2007 “BaselCement” produced 470 thousand tons of cement, 101 thousand tons of building lime. In 2008 the Company will produce 1,400 thousand tons of cement, 1,730 thousand tons of aggregate, 120 thousand tons of construction lime, 40,600 tons of bentonite clay powder. The Company is planning to increase production volumes considerably and to start production of concrete, glass and sand.
The assets of “BaselCement” are: “Sastobe-Cement” (Kazakhstan; cement, lime), “Achinsk Cement” (Krasnoyarsk Territory; cement), Pikalyovo Alumina Refinery (Leningrad region; alumina, cement, lime), Uglovsky Lime Factory (Novgorod region; lime), AST (North Ossetia-Alania; aggregate), Khakassky Bentonite (Khakassia; bentonite clay powder).

In 2006-2007 “BazelCement” reconstructed and put into operation idle cement plants “Achinsk Cement” and “Sastobe-Cement”. “Sastobe-Cement” increased its one-line production up to 450 thousand tons of cement per year. In 2008 “Achinsk Cement” is to produce 1,082 thousand tons of cement on two lines and in 2009 the plant capacity will be increased up to 2,100 thousand tons of production per year.



“BaselCement” is reconstructing and converting Pikalyovo Alumina Refinery (Leningrad region) for cement production. At the same time three new cement plants are being constructed in Ryazan and Novgorod regions as well as in Krasnodar Territory. The first new cement plant of “BaselCement”, “Serebryansky Cement Plant” (Ryazan region, dry-mix process of cement production) – is going to be launched at the end of 2009 – early 2010.
